Dear Friends Dear Friends Once again after couple of months I have found bit of a time to prepare my Newsletter. I am still thinking of ways and methods to prepare and send a timely Newsletter. I am always so busy with my clients that I rarely find the time to write a monthly newsletter. Fortunately today I have found some spare time and decided to write this newsletter. At the beginning of the year in March, I was in China, Singapore and Japan. The round tour in China was with my wife and it was a great experience. My intention was to see the cultural and spiritual side of China and also to learn about Chinese Astrology and beliefs. It was great to see all the temples, Jade sculptures and especially the Great Wall of China and the Terracotta warriors in Xian. We were in Shanghai, Hangzhou, Xian and Beijing. I learnt that the Chinese are very smart – they can build anything and they are very hard working. I take my hat off to them!
After travelling in After that, at the end of April I travelled to Japan. This was my first visit and the purpose of this visit was to introduce Vedic Astrology to the Japanese market. I was in Tokyo and also in Shizuoka. It was great to work with Japanese people and they were very interested in Indian Vedic Astrology. The people were very friendly and the hospitality was great and it reminded me of the hospitality back at home in Sri Lanka. I really enjoyed the food (Sushi, Sashimi, Tempura, Soba, Raman etc) and the culture. Luckily I was there at the correct time to see the beautiful Cherry blossoms tree.
After coming back from the big tour I had the usual pile of work on my desk to attend to and I was busy with so many clients who were waiting for me. Now again in October, I look forward to visiting Japan after spending a week or two in Hong Kong. December will be a busy month for our family due to my daughter’s wedding. We are now doing all the preparation for the big day. After that I look forward to spending 2 weeks in Sri Lanka to attend to my charitable activities to help the needy and the poor as well as to visit my family. May you all gain a lot of happiness, good health, wealth and energy to lead a happy and contented life. May the 9 planets bless and protect you all forever! With Love THEJA
Thank you – I really enjoy my profession as an astrologer a lot
As usual I kept busy during last 6 months and it was great meeting wonderful clients. I have the feeling that I learned a lot day by day by analysing so many birth charts. I have tried my best to give as much as information to my clients in a way to help them to see the beautiful side of life and to empower them to step forward wisely and courageously in spite of day today challenges that they face. I feel like I am not only an Astrologer but also a spiritual Life Coach or a healer. I really enjoy and I thank all my clients for giving me that happiness and taking time to discuss personal issues with me.
As usual I wish to remind that one should re check the horoscope and do a review consultation once in 18 months. If you have not done it is high time to do so as the planetary positions have changed a lot with in last 2 years.

The generous donations had helped me a lot to look into the needs of many families in Sri Lanka. Recently a young Indian gentleman left $ 1000 on my table asking me to add into my charitable activities in Sri Lanka. Likewise there were many wonderful people leaving money on the table to support my activities in Sri Lanka.
I have many more projects to do and I look forward to get those projects organised when I am in Sri Lanka in December. No matter how much you donate, your donation will definitely help many to be happy in life.
I use my own earnings to look after 4 families in Sri Lanka on regular basis and the additional funds I get has helped me to the following:
1. Nandasena, his wife Ranjanee and two children were living in a house with out windows and doors for 15
years. They had no money to complete their small house. Can you believe how a family can live in a house like that especially in a country with heavy monsoon rain and mosquitoes, insects and serpents?
With the money we collected we managed to provide them windows and doors and I have no words to explain their gratitude and happiness.
2. Gayan’s father is a labourer and mother works in paddy fields.
Young Gayan gave up his studies when he came to year 10 as parents were not in a position to spend for his education (books and tuitions etc). When I met him I realise how intelligent he is and I agreed to spend for his studies. I ma very happy to inform that he completed his year 10 very well and was promoted to a bigger school to study for his university entrance exam. I have agreed to spend for his studies until he complete his university education provided he shows me good results once in 6 months.
3. Renuka is a middle age mother having 2 daughters. Her husband died in the ethnic war in Sri Lanka and she
was living in a very small house. Due to the financial burdens they could not complete the roof other than two rooms. Thank to my clients, because of their generous donations we managed to put the roof to front veranda. After that it was great to see how three of them sitting and enjoying the out side view from the veranda.

Did you experience Mercury retrograde ?
Mercury goes retrograde 3 times a year and it lasts for about 3 weeks. This time it was from May 27 to June 19. Read the rest and see whether you experience anything closer to the following issues. I had computer problems, misunderstanding of e-mails, my voice was bad due to flu and was not easy to do readings etc.
Mercury will retrograde again from September 24 to October 15, 2008 and then from January 11, 2009 to February 1, 2009. During these periods depending on the strength of the Mercury in your horoscope, you will some delays or obstacles in following areas.
Businesses, travels and all matters related to communications may experience delays and numerous problems. Computers and other devices that work with information may experience crashes, unexpected failures.
May not be a good time to enroll to courses, to buy expensive Mercury related items (books, cars, mobile phones, communication equipment etc.), Better to avoid signing important contracts or read them more than twice before signing.
This is a good time to catch up with neglected or old projects that never got to be finished. So, think about the things you started and never finalized.
To prevent any bad things to happen to you, better to double-check your agenda, call your business partners to confirm that everything goes as planned, have everything ready before the deadline and leave some extra time for unexpected events. Make copies of your important files and documents, save your work more often.
The other solution is to go on vacation or at least slow down the pace of your projects. You will find that going slowly during the Mercury retrograde period will spare you many efforts of redoing the same action that wasn't performed right the first time.
KNOWING A BETTER WAY TO LIVE
"Do not pursue the past.
Do not lose yourself in the future.
The past no longer is.
The future has not yet come.
Looking deeply at life as it is
in the very here and now,
the practitioner dwells
in stability and freedom.
We must be diligent today.
To wait until tomorrow is too late.
Death comes unexpectedly.
How can we bargain with it?
The sage calls the person who knows
how to dwell in mindfulness
night and day
'One who knows
the better way to live.' "

How to Meditate
There are lots of different meditation techniques but here is a simple and easy one based on counting the breaths.
1. Sit upright on a straight-backed chair or sit cross-legged on a cushion on the floor. Try to maintain a relaxed pose but keep the back straight and the head slightly bowed. No need for contortions - be kind to your knee joints!
2. Close your eyes, check for muscle tension throughout your body and focus on the area that is causing the tension, consciously relaxing the muscles.
3. Make sure your mouth is closed and focus on the breath entering your nostrils. Don't try to force or regulate the breath, just breathe normally. Gradually, your breathing will become steadier and more gentle but there's no need to consciously aim to achieve this. Let the natural rhythm of your breathing take charge.
4. After a few minutes, begin to make a mental note of the breaths 'one' [in breath] 'one' [out breath], 'two' [in breath] 'two' [out breath] and so on up to ten.
5. What you will find is that your mind wanders - as the mind does! Don't be put off by this, the mind is used to getting its own way and having a totally free rein. Just keep coming back to the counting and do this for ten to fifteen minutes.
6. If you prefer, don't bother counting and just concentrate on the breath as the air touches your nostrils. Make this the focus of your attention.
7. Don't try to achieve anything. Meditation is not a feat of endurance or a quest for dramatic experiences. At its most basic it's a means of relaxing both body and mind.
8. Practice this every day - morning and evening if possible - and see for yourself the benefits that develop from it.
9. As you get into the habit of meditating you might like to sit for longer periods. It will depend, to a large extent, on your other commitments.
10. Finally, this is one meditation method amongst many others. Explore other methods and find one that suits you.
